AAA: Gas prices continue gradual declines

Prices at the pump continue to retreat from an atypical September rally of daily gas price records, where prices peaked at $3.87 per gallon nationally.

Despite these record highs, prices have begun to decrease following the end to the summer driving season, the resolution of regional supply and distribution issues, and the end of summer-blend gasoline specifications for much of the country on September 15.

Luray loses VBL’s Wranglers

The Luray Wranglers are moving out of town.

The Valley Baseball League voted this week to approve the proposal of team president Brett Fuller to move the team to Charles Town, W.Va., where the team will be known as the Charles Town Cannons.

The move brings to an end one of the VBL’s most successful franchises. The Wranglers won Valley League championships in 2006, 2008 and 2010.

The team will be greatly missed in Luray, but the countless memories are all close to our hearts. We wish great success to the Charles Town Cannons.
