World record holder cuts nails for first time in 66 years

Shridhar Chillal has been flown to the United States from India to cut his nails which will be preserved in a Ripley’s Believe It or Not! museum

Now 82, Mr Chillal, from Pune, India, made a decision to cut his nails when a NY museum promised to "maintain them very nicely and for a lifetime". They were extremely fragile and he had to take care when sleeping.

The 82-year-old had been growing his nails since 1952, when he was 14, after being told off by a teacher for accidentally breaking his long nail.

Chillal's teacher's words proved true, the world-record holder said he had to take delicate care of his nails and he took care of them for a lifetime.
