United Kingdom prime minister fights to stop Cabinet exodus over Brexit

Theresa May

HOC THERESA MAY The PM makes her first appearance since Boris Johnson quit the Cabinet

The broadsheet version of Die Welt says the government is "wobbling" after the departure of Boris Johnson as Foreign Secretary.

Culture secretary Matt Hancock will fill Hunt's role at the Department of Health and Social Care while MP Jeremy Wright will take Hancock's old job.

On Monday, high-profile Brexiteer and Conservative MP Johnson announced he was resigning from the Cabinet, following the agreement of a Brexit proposal that would see the United Kingdom retain close links to the European Union after exiting the organisation.

On the resignation of Mr Johnson, he added: "I can repeat what I said about Mr Davis".

Johnson, a polarising figure and a former mayor of London, was a leading spokesperson for the campaign calling for Britain's departure from the European Union in advance of a June 2016 referendum.

The Inquisitr recently reported that Giuliani is not anxious about Cohen cooperating with Special Counsel Robert Mueller. "Because it's going to lead to nothing".

Mr Hunt takes over from Boris Johnson, who made his shock resignation announcement this afternoon.

Just on Friday, May announced she had secured the backing of her whole Cabinet for her Brexit plan and told ministers to either back it or resign.

May replaced Davis with Dominic Raab, a strong Brexit supporter. He also said he will "step up the preparations for "no deal" in case the spirit of pragmatism and compromise that we have extended is not reciprocated". That plan is now in tatters and her political future appears uncertain.

According to the Daily Mail, Mr Rees-Mogg said on Monday night that Mr Johnson would make an "brilliant" prime minister.

"It seems to me we're giving too much away, too easily, and that's a unsafe strategy at this time", Davis said in a BBC radio interview Monday morning.

Kate Middleton Wows In White Dress For Prince Louis’ Christening
Britain's Prince Charles , Prince of Wales (R) and Britain's Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall arrive for the christening. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge chose hymns O Jesus, I Have Promised and Lord of All Hopefulness for the ceremony.

She also told her party that "to lead is to decide". Kat Malthouse, a work and pensions minister, replaced Dominic Raab as housing minister and Chris Heaton-Harris became a junior minister at the Brexit department, replacing Steve Baker. "But I think the government will continue to do what it needs to do as far as Brexit is concerned, both domestically and internationally".

Opposition Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn said the government was incapable of delivering Brexit.

Mairead McGuinness, vice president of the European Parliament, said the fact the white paper will still be published on Thursday "bodes well" for ploughing ahead with presenting the plan to the EU. Under Conservative Party rules, a leadership race could be triggered if at least 48 of her MPs declared their support for one.

The two resignations have left May badly exposed and raised questions over whether she will stand firm in her commitment to pursuing a "business-friendly" Brexit, or will be faced with more resignations and calls to quit herself.
