CDC Reports 212 Confirmed Cases of Cyclospora in Midwest

More than 200 people have now been infected by an outbreak of parasites linked to recalled vegetable trays from Del Monte.

As of Thursday, July 5, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported 212 cases of laboratory-confirmed cyclosporiasis in four states from the 6- and 12-ounce products, including cases in MI. Recalls were issued in June for those four states as well as IL and Indiana. The recalled products, which affected people in Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin as of Thursday, have a "Best If Enjoyed By" date of June 17, 2018.

The pre-packaged vegetables were sold in "clear, plastic clamshell containers" and were sold at Kwik Trip, Kwik Star, Demond's, Sentry, Potash, Meehan's, Country Market, FoodMax, and Peapod.
