It would make sense for each lens to have its own unique function, similar to how the triple lens on the Huawei P20 Pro works, and such lenses may include a monochrome lens, a wide-angle lens and a telephoto lens. It's been a few years since we've heard from Light, the camera company that made headlines with the L16, a point-and-shoot sized camera featuring a whopping 16 lenses, allowing it to capture DSLR-quality images. It's now working on a smartphone. And true to the firm's reputation, the device will reportedly be equipped with more cameras than you can imagine. The camera then uses algorithms to combine them into one high-resolution image.
As flagship phones like the Galaxy S10 and 2019 iPhone are rumored to adopt three rear cameras, who's to say that four (or nine) camera setups aren't on the way? The other important thing to keep in mind is that the device won't be cheap, with the L16 camera priced at $1,950.
