DeMarcus Cousins missed most of last season with a torn ACL and has now signed a one-year deal with the Golden State Warriors.

The Warriors are a professional sports franchise.

Cousins, never a defensive savant, may not be on the floor to close games. We all understand that.

Here's what fans are saying about Cousins joining the already stacked Warriors.

The Red Devils are right in the midst of their golden generation, with so many of their most important players now in their physical primes.

There is the obvious risk that Cousins may not be the same player when he returns from his injury, but for one of the best Centres in the National Basketball Association it is certainly a risk worth taking. But is that really the point?

Boston could have been an interesting fit for Cousins, whose almost unbridled, offensive talent is only checked by his unbridled, defensive temper.

The team hoped to bring back its two loudest locker room voices to build off a stunning run during the 2017-18 season, but both chose to move on to greener pastures.

Assuming he returns from injury and looks anywhere near like his old self, other teams are going to be dwarfing what the Warriors can offer him. And even though the Rockets gave them a major scare in the Western Conference finals, it was hard to believe that the Warriors would not waltz to a second consecutive championship. Sure, there are questions about how he'll fit on Golden State's roster. Perhaps those turnover issues subside if Cousins isn't handling the ball as much and doesn't have to force situations to make a play. Those teams will likely feel just as helpless next season when they try to either score or defend against the Warriors' new starting lineup. The Warriors have historically erred on the side of caution with injuries and can certainly afford to let Cousins take his time returning due to their depth. This is a four-time all-star, one of the best players in the world, zero offers.

Golden State put a bit of a damper on that LeBron to the Lakers thunder on Monday night. The Celtics have made it clear that Tatum is not on the table in a potential Kawhi Leonard trade, but given that Leonard is threatening to jump to Los Angeles next summer - Ainge would be insane to give up a player of Tatum's ability in order to secure what could very well be a rental player.

The Lakers kept the moves going Monday, adding Rajon Rondo - once a playoff rival of James, and now someone who will be giving him the ball. The Warriors would still be heavy favorites of course, but at least the Lakers would have a fighting chance.

I hope I'm wrong. "I think DeMarcus is the best center in the game".

They certainly can't afford to take a step back. It would be great for the league.
