After almost a year's worth of speculation, the 4-time MVP is once again leaving Cleveland, this time to sign a free agent contract with the Los Angeles Lakers.

The decision was announced in a tweeted press release from LeBron's agent, Rich Paul, and the agency Klutch Sports Group.

The 33-year-old James leaves his hometown Cleveland Cavaliers for the second time as a free agent after opting out of his deal on Friday.

After that, it was a mostly straightforward draft with little fireworks, but plenty of national champion Villanova Wildcats. The Mavericks' selection of Doncic, however, could cause a re-evaluation of those plans.

The 33-year-old James, one of the greatest players in the National Basketball Association, is coming off a season in which he reached his eighth straight championship series.

Wojnarowski reported that team ownership - likely led by Joshua Harris - and Brown were expected to lead the meeting. The Cavs, Lakers and Sixers could all have a sense of optimism when it comes to James' decision.

The Philadelphia 76ers have always been a dark horse in the LeBron James sweepstakes (and in a Kawhi Leonard trade, and that's part of this story). Doing so would help James compete with the Warriors and other Western conference behemoths, something he has struggled to do since winning the 2016 Finals. Only, when he returned to the Cavs in 2014, he said at least four times he would not do this very thing - leave the Cavs again.

The US and Canada are also in talks to update the North American Free Trade Agreement, which includes Mexico. She said she expects "common sense will prevail".

"Boogie's fit with James is intriguing if Cousins returns to form, or near form".

The last time James scored this many points in a season, he left and joined the Heat.

One of those stars will not be Paul George - the star forward was projected by many to the Lakers, but he agreed to a four-year deal with the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday. The team he took down, the Golden State Warriors, had the best regular season record in league history at 73-9.
