Leaked Microsoft emails refer to 'pocketable' Surface device

The Next Microsoft Surface May Fit in Your Pocket

Microsoft’s pocketable Surface device is a bold gamble after the failure of Windows Phone

Last month, we had reported that Microsoft is actively working on a new platform codenamed "Andromeda OS", and a new device codenamed "Factory OS Andromeda Device".

The company intends to create a new device category with its upcoming "Andromeda" project, according to The Verge, which obtained an internal document describing the plans. It's supposed to be released this year, so expect it to appear somewhere this Autumn. The dual display design on the device will be made possible with a wraparound display that will bridge the gap of the hinge when fully opened.

Mercedes explains Hamilton VSC strategy mistake
When asked about the events of lap one and Verstappen's move, he replied: "I think there was a lot happening on the first lap". The team's fifth major error in only nine rounds this year left Hamilton in no-man's land.

Alas, Andromeda, if it's indeed real, is still being developed inside Microsoft, and there's still the possibility of things changing.

Microsoft's next big piece of hardware, Andromeda, may just fit in your pocket.

‘Miraculous’: Cruise ship rescues crew member who went overboard near Cuba
A spokesperson for Carnival Cruise Line - the owners of Norwegian Getaway - described the man's survival as "miraculous". According to the Coast Guard, the crews searched a combined 1,630 square miles.

Microsoft is also experimenting with stylus input for Andromeda so that the device can be folded over like a book and the pen can be used to capture input.

Interestingly LG has been connected with Microsoft in the past, with the Economic Times of Korea reporting in January that LG has secured Microsoft, amongst others for its new foldable displays for smartphones and tablets. There have been rumors of a Surface Phone in the past but that has yet to be revealed, assuming that it is still in the works. A picture attached to the tweet shows a hinged photo frame with room for two images, one on each side of the hinge. Elsewhere, it is suggested that the device will "blur the lines between mobile and stationary computing". The Verge also states that the current engineering samples of this pocketable Surface device look identical to 3D concepts created by David Breyer.

Cavani scores brilliant double as Uruguay knock out Portugal
Cavani now has three goals at the World Cup , but limped off in the 70th minute with an apparent injury and had to be replaced. Former Real Madrid ace, Pepe equalised for Portugal in the 55th minute, while Cavani got the victor seven minutes later.

It's possible Microsoft could choose to launch the device alongside the next major Windows 10 Update, likely to be called the Fall Creators Update 2018, this September.
