Report: Michael Cohen ‘Likely’ to Cooperate With Federal Prosecutors

Michael Cohen, President Donald Trump's personal lawyer, is searching for a new legal team to represent him in an FBI investigation of his business dealings.

The New York Timesreported the law firm will stay with Cohen until the end of the week as his team reviews documents seized during an Federal Bureau of Investigation raid of Cohen's office and residence in April.

Cohen, ABC News reported, is no longer represented by Stephen Ryan and Todd Harrison of the Washington and NY firm McDermott, Will & Emery, and no replacement has been identified.

With no representation, Cohen is "likely" to flip.

Tuesday, Gabriel Sherman of Vanity Fair reported Michael Cohen-who is under criminal investigation in NY over his business dealings-"has told friends that he expects to be arrested any day now".

Lawyers for Mr. Cohen didn't respond to requests for comment.

The probe into Cohen is being handled by federal prosecutors in Manhattan, who were made aware of alleged wrongdoing by Mueller's team of investigators.

Instead, the judge appointed former federal judge Barbara Jones as a "special master" who could examine the materials to resolve any disputes over attorney client privilege.

The source said Cohen had not yet met with prosecutors to speak about a potential deal, and it's unclear whether either side is seeking one.

According to Vanity Fair's Gabriel Sherman, a Cohen ally claims that the lawyer is signaling to Trump that he needs his aid.

"Trump should be super anxious about Michael Cohen", a former White House official said.

Cohen has found a new lawyer, but the name of Cohen's new lawyer was not yet known.
