Harvey Weinstein Indicted On Multiple Rape And Sex Crime Charges By Grand Jury

In a proposed class action filed Friday in NY federal court, three actresses claim Harvey Weinstein, Disney, Miramax, a former Brafman & Associates attorney and other companies, law firms and individuals comprised a "sexual enterprise" that facilitated the media mogul's predatory behavior, including a newly alleged rape.

A woman named Melissa Thompson has alleged that she was lured into Weinstein's hotel room and raped, after she was allegedly sexually harassed while pitching a business idea at his office.

Recall that Weinstein was detained on Friday, may 25th due to allegations of rape of one woman and forced another to perform oral sex.

Almost 100 women have now accused Weinstein of crimes ranging from sexual harassment to assault and rape going back decades. A NY grand jury investigation of Weinstein continues, and he's under investigation in Los Angeles and London. Hagens Berman's attorneys achieved a nationwide sexual harassment settlement on behalf of 16,000 women and also tried the first ever sexual harassment case in Washington state in 1985.

Visa payment disruption hits Europe
Virgin Trains told one customer: "Unfortunately unless you have another form of payment then you wouldn't be able to get a drink". Ultimately, businesses across Europe and the United Kingdom were unable to make Visa transactions for around 6 hours on Friday.

Weinstein allegedly did not have time to testify to the jury as he only learned the women's names on Friday.

Brafman, who represents Weinstein in his criminal case, said in a statement Friday that his firm has never represented Thompson and he has never met her or the other women identified in the new lawsuit.

Vance revealed that an investigation into Weinstein's alleged crimes "remains active and ongoing" and slammed what he described as Weinstein's "recent assault on the integrity of the survivors and the legal process".

It wasn't until Weinstein publicly announced in November 2017 that he had hired Brafman to defend him that Thompson realized she had been misled, the lawsuit asserts.

Back in 2017, when the first wave of accusations against Weinstein were reported by The New York Times and The New Yorker, Thompson says a mutual friend put her in contact with Spiro.

Weinstein has denied all nonconsensual sexual encounters.

Spiro said he "never met with Mr. Weinstein nor did he have any responsibility whatsoever in connection with our representation of Mr. Weinstein in any matter".
