The planned announcements by Freeman were part of TransLink's campaign to promote its Tap and Pay system which allows anyone transit users to tap and pay with their credit card, not just their Compass Card.

Oscar-winning actor Morgan Freeman has released a second statement denying allegations of sexual harassment levelled against him.

Freeman had recorded a series of announcements that were to be heard on parts of the TransLink system.

Freeman was accused of inappropriately touching a young production assistant on the set of "Going In Style" without her consent, as well as of trying repeatedly to lift her skirt; another woman said he frequently commented on women's bodies while filming "Now You See Me" in 2012.

CNN says it spoke to 16 people who worked with Freeman in various capacities in the film industry, and the eight of them said they witnessed Freeman engaging in inappropriate workplace behaviour that made women feel uncomfortable. "We will be in touch with VISA to discuss further", TransLink said in a statement.

Louisa Russell, who works with Vancouver Rape Relief and Women's Shelter, told The Globe and Mail that her organization supports TransLink's move to suspend the ads featuring Mr. Freeman.

In light of this reporting, Translink has put a pause the voice announcements from Freeman, according to Vancouver Sun.
