The detectives of Brooklyn Nine-Nine will live to solve another case, as NBC swooped in to rescue the show a day after Fox cancelled the veteran cop comedy.

Following Fox's announcement that the fifth season of the show will be its last, there was a torrent of support from the fan base including celebrities who not only expressed frustration over the cancellation but also advocated for its resurrection.

Greenblatt believes his new existing sitcom actually fits better on NBC than it did on Fox - after all, Mike Schur, Dan Goor and Samberg all first came to fame under the Peacock's plumage.

Apparently, he is also a big fan of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and he has tweeted about the show prior to its cancellation, including congratulating the cast when the former Fox show hit 100 episodes earlier this year. TV Line reports that Brooklyn Nine-Nine is being held until midseason, meaning it'll hit United States screens early next year.

Why WWE couldn't wait for Ronda Rousey's first title match
Powell's POV: I guess this also means that Rousey and Jax won't be appearing in person at today's Raw television taping in London. At first, I assumed this was just talking up to the media, but it is official! It's an exciting prospect, to say the least!

The star added, "Andy [Samberg] has been on "SNL" and it just makes so much sense and we fit in with their comedies". Observing that the debate between "single-cam versus multicam" has been ongoing, Greenblatt noted: "I think you want the best cam". "We were trying to create a more cohesive schedule and scheduling "Brooklyn" was going to prevent us from launching something new".

Samberg, who plays Jake Peralta and is one of the producers for the show, tweeted from his Twitter, @thelonelyisland, saying "Thank you to everyone for the insane outpouring of support".

However, as of today, FOX's TV rival, NBC, has announced via Twitter that they'll be picking up Brooklyn Nine-Nine instead.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine will air in the spring of 2019 as part of the mid-season replacements.

Mariners All-Star Cano suspended 80 games for drug violation
He is making $24 million this season, so the expected almost 50 percent of his 2018 pay is now going away with the suspension. Cano's positive resulted from an offseason test, a person familiar with the process said.

Asked by Entertainment Weekly if fan fervour had anything to do with the pick-up, Greenblatt said, "We love the fans and we love when they're vocal".

"This Is Us" will return to Tuesday nights for its third season, along with the results show of "The Voice".

"We love it even more when they watch the show". "Well, just goes to show you - a lot can happen in a year". Premiere of the 1st season took place in autumn 2013. We tried to move Last Man Standing over past year when ABC decided not to move forward. Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long and Michael Strahan will host the pregame show.
