Apple now has second biggest fleet of self-driving test cars in California

It started out with just 3 registered cars in April a year ago, and that number has now expanded to 55.

At present, Apple has 55 self-driving vehicles that it is testing on public roads.

Apple hasn't really detailed its plans for the self-driving project that it has got going on but the company is steadily increasing the number of resources that it has chose to this project.

The self-driving auto permits issued by California's DMV require a safety driver to be on board to grab the wheel at any time.
