A Sichuan Airlines flight had to make an emergency landing on Monday after a cockpit window cracked and blew out of the plane.

Sichuan Airlines Flight 3U8633 left the central Chinese municipality of Chongqing on Monday bound for the Tibetan capital of Lhasa. One crew member was injured during descent, according to Reuters.

"I was thrown up in the air and fell for several times", Zhao told the China Youth Daily. The co-pilot had his seat belt on, preventing him from being sucked out of the plane. There was an immediate loss in cockpit pressure and temperature drop.

The Civil Aviation Administration of China said in a statement that part of the cockpit window broke as the plane was flying over Chengdu. It was unclear how badly the co-pilot, who suffered facial and waist injuries, had been hurt.
