Palestinian killed and hundreds wounded in "Great Return March"

More than 250 children have been shot with live bullets since the end of March in the Gaza Strip following the escalation of protests in the area, the worldwide aid organization Save the Children said in a statement on Friday.

Organizers of the protest, called the "Great March of Return", said they expected tens of thousands of Gazans at border encampments in the coming days.

Eyewitnesses said young Palestinians burned dozens of tires and threw stones at Israeli border soldiers, who responded by firing live gunshots, rubber-coated metal bullets and tear gas canisters.

The Gaza organisers of the March of Return dubbed this weekend's demonstrations a "preparation and warning of what's to come", marking this as the last Friday before the protest peaks on Monday and Tuesday.

The robot is able to move around on rough terrain and jump over objects using stereo vision, range sensing and other sensors. Once the robot has mapped the area, it uses the cameras mounted on its front, back and sides to navigate autonomously.

Israeli fire has killed 44 Palestinians and wounded some 1,700 since the protests began on March 30th.

May 15 will also be a day of "confrontation" with the Israeli army "in all border areas", organizers said.

Deifallah, who is unemployed like nearly half the Gaza labor force, said he would also join Monday's protest and is not afraid to die.

No Israelis casualties have been reported, although several fires have erupted along the border after kites carrying improvised incendiary devices made their way into Israel.

He said: "What's the problem if hundreds of thousands storm this fence which is not a border of a state?" Helping reinforce the Israeli blockade, Egypt has kept the Rafah crossing point, Gaza's main gate to the outside world, closed most of the time since the Hamas takeover.
