EXPRESSA village in NBorthern Nigeria has been attacked leaving at least 45 people dead

In a related development, Birnin Gwari stakeholders have called on Kaduna State government to establish a formidable Community Policing team in Birnin Gwari which will include the police as well as local vigilante called "Yan Sa Kai" in the area.

Many houses were reportedly set ablaze in the attack which occurred around 2:30pm on Saturday.

The attackers were believed to have entered the village from the northwestern state of Zamfara, a neighbouring state to Kaduna.

These include the confirmation that a new battalion of the Army and a new Police Area Command have been sited in Birnin Gwari.

The statement read, "The Kaduna State Government received with sadness reports of the murder of our citizens by armed bandits in Birnin Gwari".
