Facebook now lets parents schedule 'sleep mode' in Messenger Kids app

YouTube Kids Bolsters Parental Controls

YouTube Kids was designed as a safe haven of sorts for kids, where the videos available on the platform were supposed to be filtered and reviewed to make sure that they are safe for children. "Parents told us they would like controls that make the app inaccessible at a certain time, like during dinner, homework time or bedtime".

Facebook launched the messaging app aimed at kids under 13 in December.

To access this functionality now, parents will simply need to visit the Messenger Kids settings section in the main Facebook app.

Hot Rays send rookie Chirions to mound against Red Sox
The Red Sox are preparing to start lefty David Price (2-2, 2.93 ERA ), who has 23 strikeouts and 10 walks, as well as a 1.16 WHIP. Brock Holt was placed on the 10-day disabled list with a left hamstring strain to clear a roster spot for Bogaerts.

Facebook Messenger Kids was the only app allowing parents to take full control of their Children's online behaviour and tracking down their activities. Parents can control sleep mode from the Parent Control centre through their own regular Facebook accounts.

It's simple to use, and while you can go in and adjust the times at any time, you can also just set it and forget it so you don't have to worry about constantly monitoring and changing the controls for the app. After tapping on the name of the child, you'll need to tap on "Sleep Mode" in the App Controls. A parent can set the chat app to go to sleep automatically only once per day, choosing a different time slot fro say, weekdays and weekends.

Facebook and Facebook's Messenger Kids app icons are displayed on an iPhone in NY on February 16, 2018.

Trump calls Jackson's treatment a 'disgrace'
The president condemned the unconfirmed allegations against Jackson - now serving as the White House physician. At a Secret Service going-away party, the summary says, Jackson got drunk and wrecked a government vehicle.

When active, sleep mode prevents kids from sending or receiving messages or video calls and from playing with the creative camera or receiving notifications.

If your kid attempts to access the app during blocked hours, they'll receive a simple message telling them to come back at the appropriate time to access Messenger Kids again. Alongside using the sleep mode, they can add and remove contacts and even delete and create accounts from the control panel.
