Linked Carlo Ancelotti offered Italy job

Italy are close to appointing Carlo Ancelotti as their new head coach, according to local reports.

The former AC Milan, Chelsea and Real Madrid manager held talks with Italian Football Federation commissioner Roberto Fabbricini and sub-commissioner Alessandro Costacurta in Rome on Monday night.

Italy have been on the hunt for a new manager since sacking Gian Piero Ventura back in November following the country's failure to progress through to the 2018 World Cup after a surprise play-off defeat to Sweden.

The AG's office says having unused or expired medicine in the home increases the risk of accidental poisoning. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.

It will now be interesting to see what decision Ancelotti makes, but if Arsenal want to prize the Italian over to the Emirates they are going to have to act fast.

Yet it appears that a step into worldwide management will be Ancelotti's next step, as he looks to revive an Italian national team that failed to qualify for this summer's World Cup finals in Russian Federation.

"Carlo was in Rome for personal reasons", he told Sky Sports in Italy. We haven't talked about the Azzurri bench, we only joked about the opportunity.

"Since we are loyal to the rules, we talked about something else".

Roberto Fabbricini confirmed the meeting but said, "it was just time for a coffee and we didn't speak about numbers".

Asked if there would be an official meeting with Ancelotti, he added: "Yes, but I still do not know when".

Conte was also linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain, but that position is set to be taken up by German tactician Thomas Tuchel, with a return to Italy's Serie A now looking like the most likely option open to the Chelsea boss.
