Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt isn't the most popular guy in Washington.
Pruitt has been under fire for potential ethics lapses, including flying first class, excessive spending on security, and the rental of a room in a Washington condominium tied to an energy lobbyist.
"We have ascertained the issues are contained in this OIG's jurisdiction to critique" Elkins stated. While it is astonishing that an individual chosen to serve the American people would use such poor judgement so consistently, the fact that Scott Pruitt is doing so should not be at all surprising.
Police make fresh calls as opposition protests continue in Yerevan
The protests have been mostly peaceful, but brief clashes with police on April 16 left 46 people injured, including six policemen. He was nominated by the ruling Republican Party of Armenia and the Armenian Revolutionary Federation/Dashnaktsutiun.
EPA spokesman Jahan Wilcox said Pruitt's trip was cancelled because of Hurricane Harvey, which caused major flooding and damage in Texas. Policies aside - and they're awful, from an environmental perspective - Mr. Pruitt's self-aggrandizing and borderline thuggish behavior has disgraced his office and demoralized his employees. Trump tweeted earlier this month. "It's really up to the President to decide who his team is and whether he wants to continue the EPA administrator", he told reporters Tuesday.
Luisa Blue, SEIU's executive vice president, rejected the argument Pruitt and other conservatives often make that easing environmental regulations is good for jobs.
Some Republican lawmakers have also pointed out the similarities between Mr. Pruitt's case and that of Tom Price, Mr. Trump's former secretary of health and human services. I am also watching with disgust as a group of, mostly white men, stand around and applaud.
Don't Eat Any Romaine Lettuce, CDC Warns, As E. Coli Outbreak Grows
While most strains are harmless, the one found in recent patients - 0157:H7 - is a specific strain that can cause serious illness. The CDC said people in the previous outbreak were infected with a different bacterium, as determined through DNA tests.
Last month, Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) wrote a letter to the EPA IG's office, notifying the agency watchdog that Pruitt had used EPA security agents during family trips and requesting the IG add the additional details to its review of Pruitt's expensive travel and round-the-clock security expenses. "Pruitt has put the health of communities last, recruiting insiders to oversee the polluting industries they came from", the ad reads.
The ad singles out Pruitt's decision to deny a petition to ban the agricultural use of the insecticide chlorpyrifos after the EPA's own scientists concluded that exposure impedes brain development in infants and fetuses.
In response to that report, the EPA released a document from its Office of General Counsel that disagreed with the GAO finding, saying that the phone booth was necessary for Pruitt's work and was not decorative. Trump's EPA has sought to relax Obama-era rules on both of those sources of smog-forming pollutants.
Rosenstein tells Trump he is not a target of Michael Cohen investigation
The revelation that Trump is not a target of either investigation appears to have headed off any firings for the near future. It is then up to Rosenstein whether or not to include the information in the special counsel's probe or refer it elsewhere.
