The three-member bench ordered Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz to appear in person or via their counsel before the court during the next hearing. Justice also ruled that the court will personally monitor PEMRA's conduct in the next two weeks to see how it implements the court's order.

"Freedom of speech is a fundamental right of every citizen", Barrister Ali Zafar, former president of the Supreme Court Bar Association, told Arab News.

After the decision of Panama Leaks case, Sharif family and PML-N leaders are openly criticizing the judiciary, he added. His job was to bring anti-judiciary remarks on record, he added. Drawing attention to Article 68, Justice Naqvi said it even prevented the Parliament from criticising the judiciary and its decisions.

"It is part of the code of conduct that a (judicial) matter can not be discussed until the court takes the final decision; however, news channels have been crossing the limit by broadcasting talk shows on such cases", said Chudhry Khadim Huddain, editor of a national daily. Pemra chose to not stop anti-judiciary remarks, said Justice Mehmood.

"This is not a minor mistake", the bench replied.

Reports say the meeting participants also shared views view on challenging the LHC decision in the Supreme Court.

The LHC judge affirmed that the bench will dispense justice and decide the case as per law.
