President Donald Trump's threat of action against the Syrian regime places the United States and Russian Federation at perhaps the greatest risk of conflict since the days of the Cold War. As he spoke, explosions rocked Damascus.

Whether wittingly or unwittingly, Trump's right-wing media allies and fervent supporters are helping Russian Federation spread lies - and in doing so, they're actively providing support to a murderous dictator who has reportedly used chemical weapons against his own people at least seven times in 2018 alone.

Russian President Vladimir Putin warned on Sunday that further Western attacks on Syria would bring chaos to world affairs, as Washington prepared to increase pressure on Russia with new economic sanctions.
Russian defence ministry said that no United States or allied missiles had entered Russian air defence zones in Syria yet.
