As expected, it is another premium flagship smartphone that boasts of premium specs including ultra-high sensitive dual cameras that are capable of 4K HDR display and movie recording.

For selfies, the device features a 13MP sensor on the front with f/2.0 aperture. The phone has a 4K HDR screen, Snapdragon 845 SoC, 6 GB RAM and the ability to capture photos and videos in extremely low-lit environments. Of course, since there are twin lenses, the Xperia X2 Premium also has the usual faux-bokeh mode for portraits.

Elsewhere, Sony is sticking a 5.8in 4K screen on the Xperia XZ2 Premium, an improvement over the 5.7in Full HD+ screen on the regular XZ2.

What you really need to know is that the Xperia XZ2 Premium promises to take crystal clear photos from its dual-lens camera on the back, and ultra low-light photos and videos using technology only seen on DSLR cameras with interchangeable lenses.

In addition, there are some impressive audio features added to the Xperia XZ2 Premium which would now explain the 16:9 aspect ratio. While the XZ2 and XZ2 compact feature respective batteries of 3,180 mAh and 2,870 mAh, the Xperia XZ2 Premium offers a comparatively beefier 3,540 mAh power pack.

The power button and volume rockers are present on the sides along with the dedicated camera shutter key that we have seen on nearly every Sony phone launched previously. Dimensions measure 158 x 80 x 11.9 mm and it weighs 236g. It runs on the latest Android d8.0 Oreo out of the box with the Xperia UI laid on top. It will be available in Chrome Black and Chrome Silver color options. IP65/68 water resistance are on board, so you don't have to worry about getting the phone wet. There is also a fingerprint scanner on the rear and keep in mind that this smartphone does not feature a 3.5mm audio jack. Other highlights include S-Force Front Surround sound through the front-facing speakers, Hi-res Audio, LDAC, and DSHEE HX.

At present, a specific release date and pricing has not yet been made available but the smartphone will hit the market sometime from summer 2018.
