Science teacher in Idaho fed puppy to turtle in front of students

An Idaho science teacher allegedly fed a puppy to a snapping turtle in front of students in his classroom after school hours and is now being investigated.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) released a statement about a recent investigation involving an Idaho junior high teacher.

Crosland still has his job and no charges have been filed as of yet.

Superintendent Marc Gee said the incident occurred after school on March 7 during an after-school animal feeding and was not a part of any school directed program.

The school district did not immediately confirm the report, but did say students had been dismissed at the time of the incident.

Crosland has been described as a popular teacher at the school.

Browns Look to Sign Nate Solder
Other options on the offensive line for the Giants in free agency are Ryan Jensen, Josh Sitton, Joe Berger and Nick Easton. After last week's trade frenzy , the Cleveland Browns are looking to make some noise on the free-agent market.

Parrish says a teacher told her that last week after school, Mr. Crosland fed a live puppy, who was reportedly sick, to one of his reptiles.

More info can be found on East Idaho News' website. "I loved his class because he had turtles and snakes and other cool things".

The district said it is taking steps to prevent anything like the alleged event from happening again, the News reported.

However, some students did witness the incident, the outlet confirmed, although it was unclear how many were present.

Franklin County Sheriff Dave Fryar was out of the office Monday morning and could not be reached for comment.

"It is sick", Jill Parrish told KSTU.

Vikings to say goodbye to Case Keenum, Sam Bradford, Teddy Bridgewater
Siemian, Lynch and Chad Kelly, a seventh-rounder previous year who sat out his rookie season with injuries, remain on the roster. Nothing is official, however, and it's still possible that Cousins could leave his visit to Minnesota Wednesday without a deal.

"A part of any investigation includes determining the best course of action once the facts of the matter have been ascertained", Gee said.

"Allowing children to watch an innocent baby puppy scream because it is being fed to an animal. This is not a situation that is easy, nor do we feel it is a measure that can be taken lightly", Gee said.

Three former students told EastIdahoNews that Crosland had previously fed guinea pigs to snakes and snapping turtles during classroom demonstrations.

It's a sentiment echoed by parents, Annette Salvesen and Julie Johnson.

That explanation didn't satisfy Parrish, however.

Look in all honesty I'm sure he was a cool guy but this is one of those things which are hard to forget, you know? In Detroit, a similar case in 2002 ended with the firing of a Detroit animal control worker for feeding a litter of live, weeks-old puppies to a large snake, believed to be a python.
