Fallout 3 Remake Mod Cancelled Due to Legal Concerns

Fallout 3 remake project Capital Wasteland gets cancelled for legal reasons

We are talking about Capital Wasteland: A Road to Liberty Project, a mod for Fallout 4 in its PC version that was meant to be the famous Fallout 3 Remake. After this however, it became apparent that their method will raise a number red flags causing them to decide against continuing with the project, at least for the time being.

"After some thought it appears there is no fully legal way for us to continue developing the Fallout 3 in Fallout 3 portion of the Capital Wasteland". Any such re-recording would also be a massive undertaking for the five-man modding team, which as it is had only completed 30 percent of the necessary world-building after eight months of work.

Winter weather advisory in effect for Triad
A low pressure system will continue to track across the region early this afternoon with light snowfall still possible. One to two inches of snow were expected north of I-85 across the northern Piedmont, in Vance and Warren counties.

Allegedly the team tried to see if it was possible to require a download of Fallout 3 first, an option that's apparently not viable. Projects like this have always existed in a gray area of the law but we as a team value our connectiopns with many memebers of the amaziong dev team that is Bethesda Game Studios.

"At first we were very reluctant to halt work and made a decision to start looking into re-recording all the Voice acting", project lead NafNaf_95 wrote on the home page of the project's website. The reason behind Fallout 4 Mod being abandoned were serious legal issues. We quickly realised we would have to replace iconic voices like Liam Neeson's, Malcolm McDowell's, Ron Perlmann's and of course phenomenal Eric Todd Dellums'. I personally would like to apologise to the many members of the community that love Fallout 3 as much as I do.
