Hillary Clinton said that white women voted for President Trump during the 2016 presidential election because their husbands told them to, during a discussion at the India Today Conclave on Saturday.

"No, we did not deserve that", Clinton said when asked if the USA "deserves" Trump as its leader. "He really likes their authoritarian posturing and behavior", she said during the event, according to The Washington Post.

Clinton, who lost to Trump in the 2016 presidential election, then explained her belief Trump won because he ran a campaign unlike any other that had come before.

After her appearance in Mumbai, Clinton flew to the central Indian city of Indore for a private visit to the remote but lovely Ahilya Fort hotel in Maheshwar, an 18th century fort on the Narmada River built by a queen.
