In the latest in a flurry of "Star Wars" spinoffs, the Walt Disney Co. announced Thursday that Jon Favreau will write and executive produce a live-action "Star Wars" series for the company's planned streaming platform.
Two, count 'em, TWO, Star Wars theme parks are being built at the moment, one in California and one in Florida.
India's Inflation Eases In February
The inflation rate is in below expectations as a Reuters survey of 30 economists had predicted it to come at 4.80 per cent. This is led by a sharp correction in vegetable prices and continued disinflation in pulses.
"Jon brings the ideal mix of producing and writing talent, combined with a fluency in the Star Wars universe", said Kathleen Kennedy, Lucasfilm president, in a statement. It will be Favreau's responsibility to assemble what Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy calls "a diverse group of writers and directors" to shape new stories in the Star Wars expanded universe. "If you told me at 11 years old that I would be getting to tell stories in the Star Wars universe, I wouldn't have believed you", he told.
Favreau is no stranger to Star Wars having professed his love for the Original Trilogy as a child. Will Rian Johnson and Lawrence Kasdan stop by? In order to expand Disney's market in OTT services, Star Wars is likely to play a major role.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z will unite for 'On the Run 2' tour
BEYONCE has FINALLY confirmed her long-rumoured tour with husband Jay-Z and there's just weeks to wait until the show hits the UK. Beyonce and Jay Z perform during the Beyonce and Jay Z - On the Run tour at AT&T Park, Aug. 5, 2014, in San Francisco.
This is not going to be Favreau's first venture with Disney. Hopefully it will launch with this Force-filled magic, so that we don't have to wait even longer to watch it come to life. He is now in production on Disney's reimagining of "The Lion King", set for release in 2019.
While waiting, head to our midseason premiere schedule to see all the new and returning shows on the way.
