A day after 17 people were killed in a mass shooting at a South Florida high school, a student at Lake Nona High School brought a replica gun to school in his backpack, according to the Orlando Police Department. They tell us the staff notified the school resource officer around 7:45 a.m. Thursday morning that they had found a student in possession of a firearm at the school.
The student was taken into custody and charges are pending, police said.
At least 30 Baltimore County police officers descended on the scene, where they were joined by a police tactical team and an aviation unit.

Authorities said they did know the identity of student and later found the student, only identified as a 14-year-old male, in a third-floor classroom.
