Rock performed at Dave Chappelle's Radio City Music Hall residency previous year (which also featured appearances from Childish Gambino, Chance the Rapper, Lauryn Hill, and Erykah Badu).

Tamborine is the first of two comedy specials from Rock that landed at Netflix in an extremely competitive situation in a deal that sources pegged to be in the neighborhood of $40 million, a record for comedy specials.

Rock touted the news on social media, with posts on Twitter and Instagram featuring a full teaser video for the stand-up special.

With a career spanning more than three decades, Rock has enjoyed ongoing success in both film and television as a comedian, actor, writer, producer and director. It's the first of two specials he has lined up with the streaming service.

The show will debut at 12:00 am Midnight on February 14 on Netflix.
