Cops: Man spanked stranger's son, 2, in grocery store

- A toddler's plea to his father for a candy bar in a grocery store checkout line ended with a total stranger smacking the child's hand and paddling his bottom, according to police.

The boy's father, Logan Morris, says his son asked for candy at the checkout line.

Morris said his son was not hurt.

"That's my son, and at the end of the day, I'll discipline him how I believe he needs to be disciplined", Morris said. "I was blown away by the situation".

Rumford eyes top-eight finish in Perth
Thorbjorn Olesen is also in position to contend after an impressive second round of 67 took him to seven under. The top-eight players entering the final day earn a crucial bye in the first round of match play.

Morris said Martinez looked at him and said, "That's how we deal with kids in Mexico".

When police arrived to speak with Martinez, they noted he was slurring his speech and smelled of alcohol.

The boy's grandmother, Michelle Lott, said she was pleased with Morris' reaction.

Martinez was taken to the ground after resisting officers' attempts to place him in handcuffs, reports said, adding that he kicked the doors and windows of the patrol unit once inside. His combativeness continued after he was arrested and put in the squad vehicle, where he began kicking the doors and windows.

Women's Six Nations: England not taking Wales lightly
To overtake him will be brilliant, but this weekend isn't about me, it's about England hopefully beating Wales ". I think defensively they're going to be far sharper and quicker to put Wales under pressure.

Police say Martinez was arrested on charges including battery and obstruction.

"He really just seemed astonished that this guy chose to spank him", Morris said.

Martinez would not respond to staff at the Coweta County Jail and was taken to Piedmont Newnan Hospital where he was medically cleared and transported back to jail, according to reports.
