Kristen Wiig Returns to TV in Reese Witherspoon-Produced Apple Comedy

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman will both be receiving $1 million per episode while Zoe Kravitz and Shailene Woodley are said to have also received sizable raises. Sources claim that the two actors received $310,000 and $435,000 per season one episode, respectively, as well as executive producer credits and points on the show's back end.

The project is Apple's first scripted comedy and is based on author Curtis Sittenfeld's upcoming short story collection "You Think It, I'll Say It". It will be the first time Wiig has returned to series television since her stint on "Saturday Night Live" from 2005 to 2012. Witherspoon will executive produce via her Hello Sunshine banner along with Lauren Neustadter and Wiig.

Apple's first two original series, meanwhile, made their debuts a year ago: the reality app creation show Planet of the Apps in June and Carpool Karaoke: The Series in August, based on the popular skit from The Late Late Show with James Corden. With so much original content in the works, many are wondering if Apple is about to announce their own streaming platform.
