Yahoo's Tim Brown reports that Cole is heading to the Astros, while the Pittsburgh Pirates are receiving Joe Musgrove and Colin Moran in return. He has a 3.50 ERA with 749 hits allowed and 734 strikeouts in 782.1 innings in five seasons.
Musgrove has appeared in 49 games the last two seasons, going 11-12 with a 4.52 ERA and 0.7 WAR combined. With the Pirates, Cole had to be the ace and almost flawless every game to have a chance to get his team the win.
The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. (NYSE:PNC) Climbs 4.88%
It increased, as 39 investors sold AMD shares while 107 reduced holdings. 75 funds opened positions while 289 raised stakes. The firm owned 7,516,667 shares of the company's stock after buying an additional 789,498 shares during the period.
This is a huge trade for the reigning World Series champion Astros who land another frontline starter to the rotation that already includes Justin Verlander, Dallas Keuchel and Lance McCullers.
Injuries checked Cole to 21 starts in 2016, but he rebounded a year ago and was one of just 15 pitchers in the majors to work 200-plus innings.

The Federal Communications Commission is "launching a full investigation of what happened", according to spokesperson Brian Hart. Hawaii emergency officials later determined that the alert sent to people's cellphones on Saturday was a false alarm.
The 2015 campaign was far and away the best for Cole, who went 19-8 with a 2.60 ERA, 1.091 WHIP, 2.66 FIP and 4.5 WAR, while striking out 202 hitters against 44 walks over a grand total of 32 starts.
Moran, 25, is a natural third baseman who also can play first base and shortstop. Moran hit 18 home runs and drove in 65 runs while sporting a.301 average.
Delta Air Lines, Inc. (DAL) CEO Sells $4102744.44 in Stock
Stephens reiterated a "buy" rating and issued a $72.00 target price on shares of Delta Air Lines in a research note on Wednesday. Delta Air Lines, Inc . provides scheduled air transportation for passengers and cargo in the United States and internationally.
Over 127 starts for the Pirates, including three in the postseason, Cole went 59-42 with a 3.50 ERA. This forced him onto the disabled list, and ultimately back into the minor leagues. The most attractive thing about Feliz is his strikeouts per nine innings, which was 13.13 in 2017. Feliz has starting experience in the minors, but will likely compete for a spot in the Pirates' bullpen come Spring Training. Moran, 23, is a former No. 6 overall pick. Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports Michael Feliz and Jason Martin completed the package headed to the Pirates. MLB.com's Jon Morosi even reported Wednesday the Pirates and Astros had agreed on a deal, though that turned out not to be the case at that time.
