He's developing "The Vampire Chronicles" with Anne Rice, who finally made a decision to bring the vampire Lestat's story to the small screen. Fans have even more reason to get excited, as Hannibal and American Gods showrunner Bryan Fuller is helping the Rice family develop the series' pilot.
Christopher Rice announced the partnership Thursday in a lengthy Facebook post. It was based on the first book of the series, published in 1976. Two stories from this series became big screen hits. But for now, please help us welcome this brilliant and wildly talented force to Team Vampire Chronicles. The most popular adaptation is 1994 film Interview with the Vampire, directed by Neil Jordan and starring Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, and Kirsten Dunst. The 2002 movie Queen Of The Damned combined plot elements from the second and third books, The Vampire Lestat and The Queen Of The Damned. Her son, who also wrote some of the novels in the series, is helping her build the team that will be developing the show.
Chelsea vs Leicester City Preview: Verdy returns for crunch match
Chelsea's disappointing 0-0 draw against Leicester earlier today means the Blues have now created a unwanted new record. Dennis Wise is tipping Arsenal to finish outside the top four places in the Premier League once again this season.
Given Fuller's mastery of blending romance with the macabre, he makes the ideal choice to help develop this series.
"The Vampire Chronicles" will soon pick out the cast after the Rice and Fuller finish writing the pilot. Bryan and I will be together tonight, along with our friend and fellow writer, Eric Shaw Quinn, at the Hollywood premiere of THE ALIENIST, another eagerly anticipated adaptation of a popular novel, and a show that we're sure will demonstrate to all why Paramount and Anonymous are the flawless home for Lestat and all of his fledglings, fellow vampires and rivals. No network has been attached so far.
