Christopher Rice announced the partnership Thursday in a lengthy Facebook post. It was based on the first book of the series, published in 1976. Two stories from this series became big screen hits. The most popular adaptation is 1994 film Interview with the Vampire, directed by Neil Jordan and starring Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, and Kirsten Dunst. The 2002 movie Queen Of The Damned combined plot elements from the second and third books, The Vampire Lestat and The Queen Of The Damned. Her son, who also wrote some of the novels in the series, is helping her build the team that will be developing the show.
