With Gambit having now lost a third director, one wonders if the film will still proceed, and if so, how soon. Let's just run down this list for a quick recap.

You know where this is going, right? Director Gore Verbinski is parting with the production, according Variety, The Hollywood Reporter and other industry trade publications. It's not clear what the reasoning is at the time of this writing. Fast forward a couple of years and Channing Tatum was announced as taking over the role, and that a script and director was being put together for the whole thing.

This year's fest is scheduled to take place from June 14 - 17, making this the seventh year since the event began back in 2012. Alex Turner and co will appear at Firefly Festival alongside Eminem and Kendrick Lamar in The Woodlands of DE from June 14-17.

As for Gambit, Josh Zetumer wrote the script, and Fox has already assigned the movie a release date of February 14, 2019.

Yet another director is declining to take a chance on "X-Men" spinoff "Gambit", with Gore Verbinski exiting the high-profile project only two months before it was set to begin shooting. That would certainly fit with the comic book canon of Marvel's Gambit character, who was a member of the New Orleans Thieves' Guild before linking up with the X-Men. He will be the second person to portray Gambit on the big screen, the first being Taylor Kitsch in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Previously set for release on Valentine's Day 2019, "Gambit" is now set to arrive June 7, 2019. From his Cajun accent to his ability to charge up inanimate objects with kinetic energy (which leads to awesome explosions) to his badass bo staff, Remy LeBeau seems tailor-made to front a franchise of his very own.

It's unclear if the search for a new director will impact the start of production, although 20 Century Fox recently delayed the release of the film.

Wyatt was replaced in November by Doug Liman, but he would go on to leave the project in August 2016. The good news is that it sounds like this will still be the case as and the movie will definitely be the full-blown horror that they want it to be, fans will just have to wait a while longer for it.
