In an interview with Engadget last year, HTC President Chialin Chang had also said "We'll definitely be releasing a dual-camera phone next year, but we'll need to figure out how to make this feature stand out". However it could be because these companies are looking to host their own event, possibly to avoid getting swept up in the craziness that was CES. The U11 EYEs is probably named after the fact that it has dual selfie cameras up front, but the name is open to interpretation. HTC has posted a press invite to the launch happening in three countries in Asia.

HTC U11 EYEs is said to feature a 6-inch FullHD+ (1080x2160 pixels) Super LCD3 display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, (judging by the image and the resolution). The phone's display also suggests a launch on January 15. The event is scheduled for January 15 and the rumours have revealed that the HTC U11 EYEs will be going on sale from January 17 in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. It still has the same curved glass design and will have black, silver and red color options.

There are rumored to be two different HTC U11 EYEs models announced at the HTC event, with the second more premium model running a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor, which is a notable improvement over the base model's 652.

Like the U11+, the U11 EYEs has its fingerprint scanner on the back.

The draft plan now under development would run from 2019 through 2024. Both met at the Tallahassee International Airport on Tuesday.

Back in 2014, HTC launched another device with the "Eye" branding due to identical rear and front-facing cameras. There might be 64GB of storage inside, expandable via a microSD card slot.

The U11 EYEs will be fueled by 3,930mAh battery.

The two talked over and past each other before Tapper cut off the interview, stating he has "wasted enough of my viewers' time". The reference angered the president, who last week lashed out at Mr Bannon, saying he had "lost his mind".

Meanwhile, the upcoming handset will allegedly also boast an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance, HTC's Edge Sense (which will let you squeeze the phone to control some elements), and Android Nougat on board.
