Troubled singer Chris Brown might be facing new legal problems after owning a pet monkey without a permit.
The website reports that having bought a baby Capuchin, named Fiji, the 28-year-old pop star could be heading to jail as he never got a permit for the animal. "We did a brief investigation to come to a conclusion that he was indeed in possession [of an animal without a permit]", added the officer, who explained, "On January 2, they used a search warrant to go to the house and [seize] the monkey as evidence and they will file the case with the L.A. City Attorney's Office".
Last month, the "Fine China" singer bought the capuchin monkey for his daughter Royalty. Chris Brown shot back saying the animal is perfectly safe and everyone should just take a chill pill.
