According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, Gruden would be interested in Jets OC John Morton if/when he lands with the Raiders.

But he's still being coy about it.

"I understood where they were coming from", Olsen said of the Vikings' concerns. "I hope I'm a candidate", Gruden said, via Jerry McDonald of the MercuryNews. "And I can't say enough about Jon and what he's done and what he's been able to teach me, and kind of the way he put his arm around me and taught me this game".

Two days after the Oakland Raiders axed coach Jack Del Rio minutes after their season-ending loss, Jon Gruden's name is the only one being mentioned as a possible replacement. ESPN reported Saturday night that the Oakland Raiders are preparing to woo National Football League analyst Jon Gruden back to the sidelines with a lucrative deal that could even make him a part-owner of the team.

That's easier said than done.

It looks like the Raiders have found their new Las Vegas headquarters and practice facility. California has one of the highest income tax rates in the nation, but Nevada doesn't tax income at all.

But Oakland long has appealed to Gruden for a variety of reasons.

Juandi, Cai, Koh, Tiah and Muzaffar each face two counts of CBT while the rest face one count of CBT each. Shell confirmed that eight of the people were "former or current" employees.

Raiders fans would welcome a return of this brand of confidence from Carr, especially if it's Gruden doing the poking and prodding. Gruden has a history in Oakland.

Gruden began his head coaching career with the Raiders at 34.

Gruden, 54, has not coached since being fired by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after the 2008 season. He brought respectability back to the franchise, and earned the team's first playoff berth since 2002.

It's looking more and more as if the Raiders will rehire Jon Gruden as their head coach, ESPN.com reported Monday, the morning after Jack Del Rio was sacked following Oakland's season-ending 30-10 loss to the Chargers. He makes $7-9 million per year. I take a lot of phone calls from coaches, some others ... yeah, sometimes owners. This time, though, things are different.
