New Year's holiday brings DUI arrests and one fatality to Imperial County

CHP arrest 34 over New Year's weekend

The enforcement action was from 6 p.m. Friday to 11:59 p.m. Monday. That total is down from the 328 arrests recorded over the same three-day span in 2016-17.

State police investigated 1,169 crashes over the three-day weekend, nearly double the number investigated during the same period a year ago, when troopers responded to 595 crashes.
