Amir Khan's next big fight in ring, not media

Two years after moving up two divisions and a unsafe middleweight fight in Las Vegas in which he was decisively knocked out in the fifth round by Mexican star Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, Khan outlined his desire to return to the welterweight division and dominate.

The former unified world champion was most recently in the public eye when he appeared on ITV programme "I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here" in the latter half of 2017. I saw that I have two or three prime years left in what I want to do most of all, that I'm a 31-year-old man now not a kid'.

"He hasn't boxed for a long time and Matchroom make things happen and make big fights in Britain, so I wasn't at all shocked", Brook said.

Khan had been at loggerheads with Hearn for years.

His partnership with Hearn has also fuelled speculation of a bout with Kell Brook, who also has Hearn as a promoter, in the future.

An opponent has not yet been named for Khan's April contest but both Adrien Broner and Kell Brook have been rumoured as possible options.

Khan said: "Last year was a bit hard for me but the jungle definitely gave me a place to think about life and where I want to be and I decided boxing is where I belong".

"The plan is to box in April and then again in August or September in preparation for a super fight in winter 2018", Hearn said Wednesday, according to a story posted to the website of London's Daily Mail.

"I am delighted to have him back boxing in the UK". Eddie, in my view, is the best promoter in the UK.

A fight between the pair has always been touted, however, never came to fruition as the two boxers camps could not agree terms. "Of course, he's a more known name than Kell Brook".

With the two British brawlers now under the same stable it's now believed that the much-anticipated fight may finally happen this year. I just don't like Eddie Hearn.

Appreciation for Donegan: HuffPost's Dominique Mosbergen compiled reactions to Donegan's essay from journalists. Donegan also notes that old-school whisper networks "are social alliances, and as such, they're unreliable.

With Brook already signed on to fight Sergey Rabchenko in March of this year, Hearn is keen for Khan to fight a significant opponent, knowing full well it could be a warm up to the much awaited Brook-Khan fight. "British boxing is in such a good place and I genuinely can't wait to get back in that ring with the incredible home support behind me", he said.
