Israel's Energy Ministry said on Sunday that power supplies will be returned by morning. The Authority's decision to resume the electricity payments could help smooth the way towards completing the accord.

Abbas had dramatically reduced payments to Israel for the electricity - effectively slashing the supply - in a bid to pressure Hamas to loosen its grip on Gaza.

Amid a Palestinian reconciliation process, Abbas' government said last week it would restore the electricity supply. The majority of rockets were fired in the last two months of 2017, coinciding with the army's demolition of two cross-border terror tunnels and US President Donald Trump's recognition of Jerusalem as the official capital of Israel.

Leah Goldin, the mother of Lt. Hadar Goldin, turned directly to the people of Gaza in a statement posted on the Arabic Facebook page of the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) Major General Yoav (Poly) Mordechai.

The group said in a letter written in Hebrew on its Twitter account "The residents of Gaza, mothers, fathers and children don't accept abducting bodies because it's inhuman".
