Truck shoppers can probably assume that the Silverado will get more efficient to better compete with Ford's twin-turbocharged V6 powertrains, likely cresting a 25-mpg highway fuel economy rating, depending on specification. But the first look at the Silverado suggests otherwise.

But Chevy used Ford's switch to attack the F-150 in comparison ads, saying heavy, sharp objects would put holes through the aluminum truck bed while only denting the Silverado.
Chevy has not announced what will power the new 2019 Silverado, but we'll have all the details next month in Detroit. Elements from the late 1940s are actually seen throughout the current Silverado, especially in the front. "Chevrolet" is stamped wide across the rear tailgate.
