Next-Gen Google Home Might Feature Multi-Touch Gestures, According to Job Listing

Google is bringing play and pause buttons back to the Home Mini today, after initially removing them due to an issue that could cause the device to constantly record users.

Google launched "Home Mini" on October 4 for $49 at an event in San Francisco.

In Google's LinkedIn job posting for a "Touch Sensor Hardware Engineer", the company writes that it's looking to hire someone who will "work on the next generation of Google Hardware" to "enable the best multi-touch user experience".

The Google Home Mini was supposed to have the same touch functionality as its full sized brother.

When launched, the "Home Mini" shipped with a feature that let owners activate the Google Assistant and control music by tapping the top of the speaker.

According to Android Police, Home Mini users will now be able to long press the volume buttons on either side of the device to control music, news, alarms and phone calls.
