This means most of the Upstate will see generally a cold rain mixed occasionally with melting snowflakes.

The switch over from rain to snow could occur Friday morning and into the afternoon hours in parts of Alabama and West Georgia.

PLACEMENT: The Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for areas south of a line from Cedar Bluff to Oneonta to Tuscaloosa to Livingston, and north of a line from Jackson to Selma to Prattville to Dadeville and on to Lafayette.

One small concern will be the potential to see black ice late Friday night and Saturday morning as temperatures fall into the upper 20s and low 30s. Temperatures in the 60s will return Monday.
