Atlanta News Anchor Classily Claps Back At Racist Comments On-Air

Since taking office, President Trump's rhetoric gives some people the newly found confidence to publicly say things that they otherwise may have kept private, like CBS viewer Kathy Rae.

The unsigned email from the handle "kathyrae1962" says Reed should be fired for a "race baiting comment" she made during a newscast Tuesday night. "You are a racist N*ger (sic). you are what's wrong with the world".

After showing Rae's email, Reed goes on to list everything that was wrong with the email.

Harold Ford Jr., former congressman, denies sexual harassment allegations
At least one woman was interviewed by Morgan Stanley as part of the investigation, Huffington Post reported . Ford was appointed to become a managing director of Morgan Stanley in 2011.

An Atlanta news anchor confronted a viewer who called her the "n-word" during Tuesday's coverage of the mayor's race. It's one we're having tonight because it's one many of you are talking about at home and it's one that's clearly entered the Atlanta mayor's race.

The response came the same day as the mayoral election in Atlanta, where Keisha Lance Bottoms and Mary Norwood faced off in a tight race that was likely heading to a recount Wednesday morning.

"On December 5, 2017, you think it's okay to call this journalist a n****r". I don't. I could clap back and say a few things to you. "Instead, I'll let your words, Kathie Rae, speak for themselves".

EU takes Czechs, Hungary, Poland to top court
The European commission - the executive arm of the EU - said Hungary had repeatedly failed to answer its concerns over both cases. Poland's rightwing government is also in the EU's legal crosshairs. "Going to court is always the instrument of last resort".

Reed was a part of a recent on-air discussion that, apparently, irritated one of the viewers so much that she wrote a scathing email.

In a video she shared to her professional Facebook page, Reed showed the world what journalists of color deal with on a daily basis and responded directly to Kathy Rae herself. "Number One: You mischaracterized what I said. And that will be the last word". But Bottoms is black and Norwood is white. "Because we do try to keep it real here and I think we do a very good job of it".

Reed addressed her accuser directly, also noting she spelled the "N word" incorrectly. She used it multiple times. "It's not the first, second, third, or hundredth - voicemails, emails - not necessarily to my face [but] over the phone", she says. Taylor, then 36, had been the subject of what a 2002 Daily News article calls "foul, scatological, racist, sexist" messages posted to online TV forums which she believed were authored by Reed.
