The engine issues both happened on Boeing 787 Dreamliner planes flying out of Auckland bound for worldwide destinations.

Both incidents involved the engines during climb on takeoff from Auckland, forcing them to turn back.

While New Zealand's national carrier did not disclose the cause of the issue, the New Zealand Transport Accident Investigation Commission said it was investigating two events involving "engine abnormalities".

Far Cry 5, The Crew 2 Delayed
Far Cry 5 will now release on March 27th, 2018 , one month later than its previously detailed February 27th, 2018 release. The Crew 2 will now be released in the "first half of Fiscal 2018-19", instead of March 16th, 2018.

The commission say they're working closely with Air New Zealand, the Civil Aviation Authority and engine-manufacturer for Boeing Dreamliners Rolls Royce.

"Our investigation team is securing and reviewing aircraft records including recorder information, making preliminary examinations of the engines, and interviewing company representatives and the flight crew", Ms Meares said. "We finalised the schedule changes for Friday through to Sunday early [Thursday] afternoon and began the process of contacting customers".

Rolls-Royce has advised the carrier that some of the Trent 1000 engines in the airline's Boeing 787-9 fleet require maintenance sooner than previously indicated.
