The "Girls" alum told the New York Times that she told Kristina Schake, the campaign's deputy communications director, that Weinstein was a "rapist" at least a year before recent accusations arose against the producer. "I think it's a really bad idea for him to host fund-raisers and be involved because it's an open secret in Hollywood that he has a problem with sexual assault".
Dunham - who has recently faced backlash for her own treatment of sexual assault allegations - told the NYT that she has "an incredible allegiance to Hillary", and doesn't believe her warning reached as high as Clinton, but said her complaints fell of deaf ears with lower level campaign managers.
Weinstein is the subject of criminal cases in New York, London and Los Angeles.
Amazon Prime Video finally reaches Apple TV
Earlier this year it was suggested that Amazon Prime Video could be coming to the Apple TV in the form of its own app. Apple then issued an update saying the app's release was moved to September, but that didn't happen as well.
David J. Pecker, chief of tabloid publisher American Made (National Enquirer, Globe, OK!, Radar Online, Us Weekly, Star) had "particularly strong ties" to Weinstein, according to the Times, which frequently saved him from embarrassing stories being published.

"I was shocked and appalled by the revelations about Harvey Weinstein", Clinton's statement said. Speaking with the Times, Dunham, a vocal Clinton advocate, recalled how she felt uncomfortable with the producer's very visible support for the candidate.
Though there are disputes about this particular account, it goes without saying that Weinstein did not lose his access to Clinton, nor did he lose his gilded reputation in Hollywood at large-a reputation that has since been destroyed.
Did anyone in Clinton's campaign respond to Dunham's comments?
Notice the careful wording of this response from the Clinton campaign: "Ms. Elrod and Ms. Schake, through Mrs. Clinton's communications director, denied that Ms. Dunham mentioned rape, while [Robby] Mook said that no one had ever alerted him about the producer". Hours before the New York Times' first story on Weinstein dropped, Weinstein personally called the reporters and told them that he had the means to find out who had talked to them.
