In an effort to rally global pressure against North Korea's nuclear weapons program, Trump had said during his speech in South Korea on Tuesday, "Do not underestimate us".
Trump goes on to say sarcastically, "Oh well, I try so hard to be his friend - and maybe someday that will happen!"
The discussion came after Trump and Kim once again traded insults in a public forum, with a statement from North Korea's foreign ministry released through the country's official news agency describing Trump's Asia trip as a "warmonger's visit" aimed at destroying world peace and again describing the president as a "dotard" - an archaic insult for an elderly person that the rogue nation has used before. "He should know that he is just a ugly criminal sentenced to death by the Korean people", the commentary read. "He will be forced to pay dearly for his blasphemy any moment", it continued. The renewed focus on economic development could be a bid to unify North Koreans and strengthen support for the leadership. "A man so uneducated (Trump has a masters from the prestigious Wharton School of Business at Penn and certainly has had his share of educational life experienced) and incurious about the world is willing like his followers to buy any crackpot conspiracy theory that makes its way to him via the Infowars-"Fox & Friends" pipeline".
