Essential Phone Oreo update released in beta

This feature is activated when a device runs low on storage space, and this is how it works - after a length of time specified by Android, applications that haven't been used in a while are marked as inactive. This chart is an indication of what version of Android is running on how many devices in the market in terms of percentage.

Google's Project Treble promises to help speed up vendor releases of new Android versions, but the benefits of this technology will probably take several years, since only devices that ship with Android Oreo can take advantage of it. Google has released the November distribution numbers for Android running on devices globally, and a measly 0.3% of all Android devices run the newest software-a rather minimal gain from 0.2% last month. "In May 2017, Google announced that there are over two billion active Android devices".

OnePlus has left an app on its devices that could compromise security
The app is normally hidden until you tell Android to show system apps, so you might not notice it unless you went looking for it. Now, on its own, this app can't do anything malicious; it's a powerful tool intended for device testing and maintenance.

Android and Apple fans can argue endlessly about who stole what and which phones are better, but there is at least one area where Android has consistently failed to keep up with its biggest rival: fragmentation. And considering that Google's latest platform version breakdown shows that just 0.3% of devices have been updated to Android 8.0 Oreo, there are approximately 1.99 billion phones and tablets that have yet to receive the most recent update (which originally launched in August, by the way). Also, this means that low internal storage devices - midrange and budget phones - will still have to run Android Oreo to take advantage of this upcoming feature.

Year after year, owners of expensive flagship devices are forced to wait more than six months for OS updates and the problem is showing no signs of abating.

Tax plan in Congress will benefit wealthy
I don't know if I would get a tax cut under this bill, but even if I did, I wouldn't want it. They say the Republican tax plan disproportionately benefits the wealthy and corporations.
