Ferry McFerryface is now officially the name of the last ferry in a new fleet of inner harbour vessels.

"We're in talks now to just leave the ferry by the wharf and run the daily service without it", said the source.

Courtesy of an online voting contest, the new ship's official name will be Ferry McFerryface.

NSW Public Transport recently ran a "Name Your Ferry" competition, which they were no doubt hoping would inspire a similar level of excitement and meme-worthiness as the similar United Kingdom competition. Twitter gave yesterday's announcement mixed reviews.

But Minister for Transport and Infrastructure Andrew Constance - who probably had more important things to be doing - told ABC News Australia that "given Boaty was already taken by another vessel, we've gone with the next most popular name nominated by Sydneysiders".

Boaty was the notable title Brits voted to call a United Kingdom research vessel previous year, so Minister for Transport and Infrastructure Andrew Constance said they went for Ferry McFerryface instead.

Ferry McFerryface will be joining three other new ferries named from the competition, the much more gravely dubbed Victor Chang, Catherine Hamlin, and Fred Hollows.

The UK's polar research ship was ultimately named RRS Sir David Attenborough after it was deemed to be a "more suitable" title. "Welcome to Sydney, Ferry McFerryface", NSW Public Transport wrote on Facebook.

But the report's authors predicted that relatively few of those who fall into the new hypertensive category will need medication. The change means that 46 percent of USA adults, many of them under the age of 45, now will be considered hypertensive.

Past year a British poll voted to name a research vessel Boaty McBoatface, inspiring similar monikers elsewhere. Since then, an express train in Sweden was reportedly named Trainy McTrainface and a racehorse in Sydney was named Horsey McHorseface past year.
