In April this year, 55-year-old Pehlu Khan was lynched by suspected cow vigilantes in Alwar while he was transporting cattle, triggering a nationwide outrage.

The dead man, Ummar Khan, and two other men were transporting cows when their vehicle was attacked on Friday. "The killers threw his body on the tracks to cover up the murder", Mr. Razaq Khan told The Hindu. Later, a dead body was also found about 15 kilometres away in Ramgarh area by the railway tracks.

One of the two victims, identified as Ummar Khan died in the attack while his companion Tahir Khan is battling for his life in a private hospital, said a News18 report.

The Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) on Monday condemned the lynching of a farmer, Umar Khan, by cow vigilantes in Alwar district of Rajasthan and demanded strict action against the culprits. The Panchayat leader alleged that the killers were not done with Ummar even after shooting him and tried to show the death as an accident by dumping him on the tracks and waiting for a moving train to run over his body. The family members recognised Ummar with the help of his slippers.
