Ashley Young expresses disappointment at missing Dele Alli reunion on worldwide duty

Jose Mourinho concerned for Marcus Rashford after Chelsea defeat

Jose Mourinho is reportedly concerned over Marcus Rashford’s workload

Young's worldwide career to this point has been nothing spectacular, with 30 sporadically earned caps spread over six years, the most notable moment probably being his missed penalty in the shootout against Italy at Euro 2012. "Come back when you've won the Prem", Young was clearly seen to have said, offering a sharp put-down to the impudent youth who has taken up residence in the England side, but without Young's medal collection. When you have the chance to represent your country it's an honour to pull on an England shirt.

Yet it was odd that Young also repeatedly made reference to having played for only three managers at United when it is, in fact, four - Ferguson, David Moyes, Louis van Gaal and now José Mourinho (or five if Ryan Giggs is counted).

If picked, Young will play for England for the first time since a World Cup qualifier against Ukraine back in September 2013 and he hasn't yet given up on featuring at next summer's World Cup in Russian Federation. "As a footballer, you want to play week in, week out".

"I saw him when he was coming up through the ranks at United", Young told reporters on Rashford while both are away on worldwide duty with England.

Uber's loses appeal on ruling that drivers are employees
Uber drivers are paid for each ride and the firm insists they are self-employed, choosing when, where and for how long they drive. The company appealed against the decision, arguing that its drivers were self employed and were not obligated to use the app.

"I'm delighted for him because he wants to work and learn and he's doing fantastically well".

Young believes his "football brain" has helped his transition further back and his versatility has caught the eye of Southgate.

"The manager is talking about a 3-4-3 or wing-backs or 3-5-2 and I feel like I can step into that role".

"Now I am playing regularly and playing well, the England manager said he will pick players on form and I've been able to get myself back in the squad".

Messi presents World Cup 2018 ball in Moscow
We want to know how good your memory of World Cup balls from the past is. I like all of it: "the new design, the colours, everything ", he said.

"I'm one of those players who wants to play every game and the World Cup is a long way away - but at the back of my mind I think every English player wants to go to the World Cup". It's been quite easy to...

"They have always had that trust in me to play - Champions League, Europa League, big derbies".

'I've showed I deserve to be in the squad, ' Young said on Wednesday. It's refreshing to see that in a kid so young, that he wants to get to the top. It's disappointing but I never thought of leaving. Young did not elaborate but mentioned it being three so many times it left the suspicion that perhaps he was not too fond of either Moyes or Van Gaal.

BBC stars highlight equal pay day
Speaking to the Radio Times about the issue in October, Montague said the disparity in pay was "professionally damaging". It could take over 100 years to close the gender pay gap if progress remains at current levels, a charity has warned.
